LITTLE EGG HARBOR – Township police seized quantities of narcotic contraband on Saturday from a home in the Mystic Shores area.

Little Egg Harbor Police had been working with the Combined Ozarks Multi-Jurisdictional Enforcement Team (COMET) in Missouri in this investigation. The drugs had been shipped to the home from Europe and Asia.

The department did not release the address or names of anyone arrested.

“Controlled dangerous substances, such as opiates and similar medications, may only be obtained with a valid prescription from a licensed medical practitioner, and only through valid pharmaceutical distribution companies. Controlled dangerous substances obtained from foreign sources without prescription is a crime, and may result in the arrest and prosecution of the recipient,” Little Egg Harbor Police Chief Richard Buzby said. “Additionally, the quality of the medication is unknown and may be dangerous, and funds used to purchase the medication could be used to support foreign criminal entities and/or terrorist organizations.”

Residents with information about illegal drug use or sales are asked to call the department at 609-296-3666 ext. 178.
