Car Crash With Dump Truck Under Investigation

  STAFFORD – Police are investigating a crash between a car and a small dump truck on Atlantis Avenue near the intersection of Nautilus Drive.

  The crash took place on May 6 at around 1:45 p.m. A 2005 Subaru Legacy was heading west on Atlantis when it was struck by a small dump truck going south on Nautilus.

  The Subaru left the roadway and struck a tree. Its driver, Patrick O’Brien, 75, of Manahawkin, and his wife, Linda O’Brien, 70, of Manahawkin, were transported to Atlantic City Medical Center for treatment by the Stafford Township EMS. Linda O’Brien had to be extricated by the Stafford Township Fire Department. 

  The dump truck, which was towing a trailer, also left the roadway and ended up on a home’s lawn. The driver, Rudolf Kohl, 48, of Little Egg Harbor, sustained a minor head injury and declined treatment at the scene.
