LACEY — A former OceanFirst Bank teller is accused of stealing more than $200,000 in customer money that was supposed to be deposited into accounts, according to the Lacey Township Police Department.
Police said Tiffany Prutzman, 54, of Barnegat, surrendered at Lacey Township Police Headquarters on July 24 following an investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau.
Investigators allege Prutzman took approximately $212,400 in customer funds between 2024 and 2026 while working as a teller at the OceanFirst Bank branch in Forked River.
Prutzman was charged with second-degree theft by failure to make required disposition, money laundering, misapplication of property of a financial institution and computer criminal activity. She also faces a third-degree charge of tampering with records.
After being processed, Prutzman was taken to the Ocean County Jail, police said.
The charges are accusations. Prutzman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
