Two-Vehicle Crash Causes Delays On Route 72

STAFFORD – A two-car crash delayed traffic on Route 72 for about an hour as authorities investigated and treated the persons involved at the scene.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, a BMW traveling east on Route 72 attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Neptune Drive. The car struck a Ford pick-up traveling west.

Dylan J. Houser, 20, of Little Egg Harbor, the BMW driver, was issued a summons for careless driving.

He and his two passengers, and 18-year-old and 17-year-old, both from Manahawkin, were treated at the scene and then transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for further evaluation. All injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

The pick-up truck driver and passenger, Rudy Esteves and his wife from West Chester, Pennsylvania, were evaluated at the scene and released.

All persons involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, Stafford Township Police reported.
