Two More Contractors Face Sandy-Related Charges

Two contractors have been charged with theft by failure to make required disposition related to Superstorm Sandy work.

Paul Rueda, 46, of League City, Texas, and John F. Bishop, 54, a former Ocean County resident, were charged, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

On Nov. 19, Rueda was arrested by the League City Police Department after a 17-month investigation conducted by Det. Erik Ludwick of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crimes Unit.

Rueda owned PKR Construction and is accused of stealing more than $75,000 from four Ocean County residents for post-Sandy construction never done.

Bishop remains at large following a lengthy investigation led by Detective Lindsay Llauget, also of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crimes Unit. His last known address was 1417 Latta Drive in Celebration, Florida.

He is accused of stealing more than $75,000 as owner of John Paul Builders. He failed to complete contracted work.
