LAKEWOOD – A Houston man has been charged in a June break-in at a Lakewood business where the owner reported about $250,000 in equipment was stolen, police said.
Ericson Pring, 35, faces charges of second-degree burglary, theft and criminal mischief, along with third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Officers responding to a burglar alarm June 14 found the business’s front glass doors broken, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
Investigators determined that several people entered the business by force in the early morning, broke display cases and left with equipment, police said.
Evidence collected during a four-month investigation identified Pring as one of the suspects, authorities said.
Police Chief Gregory H. Meyer credited detectives with remaining committed to the investigation and working to identify those involved.
The department also credited the New Jersey State Police Communications Analysis Unit and Shomrim for assisting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective John Ganley at 732-363-0200, ext. 5392.
The charges are accusations, and Pring is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
