Seaside Heights CVS Will Have COVID-19 Vaccine

  SEASIDE HEIGHTS – The borough’s CVS pharmacy will be among several of the chain’s stores that will start administering coronavirus vaccines around February 11 .

  To receive the vaccine those interested must register on the CVS website to determine their eligibility. The section of the site will not be live for New Jersey until February 9.

  Those without internet access should contact the general CVS customer line at 1-800-SHOP-CVS, and press option 1.

At this time there are no appointments or information available in stores. Local stores should not be called for information.

  The retailer has been coordinating the administration of the vaccine to long-term care facilities. It will be made available at 14 pharmacies with an initial 20,000 doses. As vaccine supplies become available, up to 27 stores in the state will have the vaccine.

  CVS will follow state eligibility guidelines when making appointments. Requirements in New Jersey include anyone who lives, works or attends school in the state over the age of 65 as well as any person 16 and older with underlying conditions are eligible to receive the vaccine.

  Also eligible are healthcare workers, law enforcement personnel and residents of long-term care facilities. More than 824,028 doses have already been administered in New Jersey, according to the state Department of Health.

  Along with the Seaside Heights CVS, store locations in these communities will have the vaccine available: Brigantine, Edison, Elizabeth, Flemington, Green Brook, Hoboken, North Bergen, North Bergen, North Plainfield, Princeton, Stanhope, Union, Voorhees and West Orange.

  All appointments will be taken by CVS at its website CVS.com, its app or by calling 800-746-7287. There will be no walk ins at this time. The pharmacy expects to be able to administer around 20–25 million shots per month when the supply is available from the federal pharmacy partnership program.
