OCEAN COUNTY – Two judges in Ocean County recently celebrated their retirement. Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, First Assistant Prosecutor Michael T. Nolan Jr., and other members from their office joined in the celebration.

They honored the Honorable James M. Blaney J.S.C. and the Honorable Frank S. Salzer, J.M.C. at the Crystal Point Yacht Club recently.

Blaney was an Ocean County Superior Court Judge. Salzer worked as a municipal court judge all over Ocean County.

Billhimer said he had the opportunity to appear numerous times before both judges during his years in private practice.

“They were always poised, attentive, professional and fair,” Billhimer said. “Judge Blaney presided in the Family part and many years in the Criminal Part, he was always well respected by Prosecutors, defense attorneys and even defendants. Judge Salzer presided in many municipalities, but my fondest memories of him will always be during his tenures in Seaside Park and Lavallette. Judge Salzer had a dignified tone, with wry sense of humor that put everyone in the courtroom at ease. I learned a great deal from both gentlemen.”

He thanked both judges for their dedicated service to the county’s residents, and “wishes them a happy, healthy, and relaxed retirement,” he said.
