LAKEWOOD — Authorities are investigating a reported shooting near the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Congress Street, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of gunfire. When police arrived, they found one person who had been injured. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not disclosed the severity of the injuries.
Police secured the scene and said additional officers remain in the neighborhood as the investigation continues. Authorities said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public at this time.
