OCEAN COUNTY — A 67-year-old Lakewood man has been sentenced to a decade in state prison for distributing child sexual abuse material, following an investigation led by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad.

Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Christopher Brondi was sentenced Friday by Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison. The sentence includes a five-year period of parole ineligibility. Brondi will also be subject to Parole Supervision for Life and must register as a Megan’s Law offender.

Brondi previously pleaded guilty on September 15, 2025, to a charge of distributing child sexual abuse material.

Authorities said the investigation began after detectives identified an internet protocol address linked to a Lakewood residence that was being used to upload illegal images online. The address was traced to Brondi.

On May 29, 2024, detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant at the residence. An initial forensic review of seized electronic devices uncovered fewer than 1,000 items of child sexual abuse material, leading to Brondi’s arrest. He was processed at Lakewood Township Police headquarters, lodged at the Ocean County Jail and later released under New Jersey’s bail reform guidelines.

A more comprehensive forensic analysis later determined that Brondi had distributed more than 25 files containing child sexual abuse material through a file-sharing program, prosecutors said.

Billhimer credited Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Shanon Chant-Berry for handling the case and praised the High Tech Crime Squad for its work in securing Brondi’s conviction and sentence.
