OCEAN COUNTY – A Little Egg Harbor man is facing charges for the possession, manufacture and distribution of child pornography five years following arrest, according to officials.

After an arrest in September of 2013, 40-year old Matthew Wolny faced the aforementioned charges in addition to resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law. Wolny has since been charged with two counts of receiving child pornography through interstate or foreign commerce by the Department of Homeland Security.

Wolny has connections throughout Ocean County, as he was a Jackson resident at the time of this arrest, now a Little Egg Harbor resident. He also used to work for Howell and Brick schools but is no longer a public employee.

Back in 2013, Wolny tried to flee from Jackson Police and members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office when they approached his Jackson home. He was then arrested and confessed to possession of child pornography.

Since then, 2,000 images and 1,600 videos of child pornography have been discovered on computer hardware at Wolny’s Jackson home, two of which traveled in interstate commerce, according to DHS Special Agent Patrick Glynn.

Wolny is facing up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for each charge, if convicted.

He has been held without bail as of June 8.
