LAKEWOOD — An Ocean County man was arrested on drug-related charges after police stopped a vehicle during a proactive patrol late Saturday night, authorities said.
Police said officers were patrolling an area known for narcotics activity around 10:25 p.m. on January 10 when they noticed what they described as suspicious behavior involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers then conducted a motor vehicle stop to investigate further.
During the stop, police said suspected controlled dangerous substances were found on one individual. The man was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Shawn Labarge, 54, of Lakewood. He was charged on a warrant with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and loitering to obtain CDS.
The investigation was conducted by Officers Cristiano and Matthews, police said.
All charges are accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
