
OCEAN COUNTY — Communities across Ocean County are preparing to light up the skies with fireworks displays and patriotic celebrations in honor of Independence Day and the summer season, with events scheduled from late June through mid-July.
Festivities Begin Early
Manchester kicks off the season on June 28 with Manchester Day at Harry Wright Lake. Festivities start at 2 p.m., with fireworks at dusk.
July 3rd Highlights
Multiple towns will host fireworks on July 3.
- Lacey Township will hold its celebration at Lacey Township High School, with festivities beginning at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. (Rain date: July 5).
- Lakehurst will hold its display at dusk at Lake Horicon.
- Lakewood will present an Independence Week show at Jersey Shore BlueClaws Stadium following the game. Additional shows are planned for July 18, 19, and 25.
- Brick Township will feature fireworks after its Summerfest concert at Windward Beach Park.
- Surf City will host a 9–10 p.m. display in Barnegat Bay off 17th and 18th Street.
July 4th Celebrations
Independence Day itself will bring major displays including:
- Beach Haven at 9:30 p.m. behind Bay Village on the Taylor Avenue bayfront.
- Jackson at Six Flags Great Adventure at 9:30 p.m. both July 4 and 5.
- Point Pleasant Beach at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.
- Tuckerton around 9:15 p.m. at Lake Pohatcong (weather permitting).
Other Notable Events
- Berkeley Township will host its “Sounds of Summer” concert on July 2 in Veterans Park, Bayville, beginning at 6 p.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m.
- Lavallette will feature a fireworks concert on July 6 from 8–9:30 p.m. at the Lavallette Gazebo on Bay Boulevard (rain date: July 7).
- Barnegat will celebrate on July 5 at Barnegat High School with festivities starting at 5 p.m. (rain date: July 11).
- Beachwood will hold its “Fireworks Over the Toms River” on July 5 at 9 p.m. at Beachwood Beach.
- Seaside Heights will light up the boardwalk on July 6 at 9:30 p.m.
- Lakewood will also host a patriotic concert and fireworks show on July 7 at the All Wars Memorial Amphitheater, with music starting at 8 p.m. and fireworks over Lake Carasaljo at 9:15 p.m.
- Plumsted rounds out the celebrations on July 12 with fireworks around 9 p.m. at New Egypt High School fields.
