Ocean County College To Host Substance Abuse Summit

TOMS RIVER – Ocean County College’s Governmental Affairs Institute will present a free Substance Abuse Summit: Prevention & Recovery on May 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gateway Building Lecture Hall (Building #101) on Ocean County College’s Main Campus, College Drive.

Panelists include writer Alicia Cook, who lost her cousin to an overdose in 2006 and created a writing series entitled “The Other Side of Addiction.” Other panelists include Ocean County Police Chiefs and Superior Officers, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato, Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy, Congressman Tom MacArthur, representatives from substance abuse/rehabilitation organizations, people in recovery from addiction and family members of people who have succumbed to addiction.
