COLTS NECK – A Long Branch man died after his motorcycle collided with a delivery van in Colts Neck, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly after noon on September 19 on County Road 537 near Willow Lake Drive, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.
Investigators said Stephen Morehouse, 65, was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson eastbound when his motorcycle struck a 2022 Rivian electric delivery van driven by a 57-year-old man. The impact sent Morehouse into a curb and grass median, ejecting him from the motorcycle.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died later that night at 11:17 p.m. The van driver stayed at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and involves the Prosecutor’s Office, the county’s Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, and Colts Neck police. No charges have been filed.
