LAKEWOOD — A township man was arrested this week after officers conducting proactive patrols observed activity they said was consistent with illegal drug activity, police said.
Members of the Lakewood Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit stopped the individual on March 25 and identified him as Jacob Dossantos, 34, of Lakewood. During the encounter, officers reported recovering a quantity of suspected crack cocaine along with drug paraphernalia.
Dossantos was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing. Authorities charged him with drug-related offenses and later released him on a summons. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Police said the patrol was part of ongoing efforts to address suspected drug activity in the community.
Officials emphasized that the charges are accusations, and Dossantos is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
