POINT PLEASANT – Initially, the call went out to the Point Pleasant Fire Department that someone was trapped in a burning house.

Fortunately, that wound up not being the case when they responded to the Bay Boulevard home on July 2. A statement from the fire department said that there was a resident who suffered smoke inhalation and is now in stable condition.

There were no other injuries reported. The firefighters contained the fire to the bedroom and hallway, and there was heavy smoke damage throughout the home.

The following agencies responded: Point Pleasant Fire Department, Point Pleasant Police Department, Point Boro EMS, Point Pleasant CERT, Point Pleasant Beach EMS, along with the following Ocean County Fire Departments 42, 43, 23, 24, 14.

“Working fires are very demanding and hard work, these tasks could not be accomplished without all of these organizations banding together,” Point Pleasant Fire Department stated. “We ask all of our followers to please keep the residents of this home in your thoughts and prayers as they embark on this very difficult time in their lives.”
