TOMS RIVER – Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases, the testing center at Ocean County College will be open on New Year’s Eve from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

States throughout the country have been seeing an increase in cases since Thanksgiving, and the Jersey shore is no different. This week, there were two days where the testing center was out of appointments early in the day.

The Ocean County Health Department has reported at least 200 cases a day during the month of December. The count released today was 1012 new cases.

Appointments for the testing center are highly recommended but drive-ups are welcome. There will be no rapid tests at this location, only PCR tests.

To schedule an appointment, visit ochd.org and link to the Immediate Care registration page.

Test results are taking at least five days in light of the volume of people being tested. Testing is free with no out of pocket expenses. Insurance information is not required. You must wear a face covering when you visit.

All test results will be posted on the Immediate Care website only and NOT at ochd.org

Other locations for tests can be found at covid19.nj.gov/pages/testing.
