TOMS RIVER — A new scam has surfaced in Ocean County and officials are urging you to be wary when checking your email.
A scam email has been making the rounds with an urgent request for an iTunes gift card. The scammer claims they need the card immediately but cannot get one himself “because I’m currently traveling for a 2 days trip which is time sensitive.”
While the email claims you will be reimbursed, don’t fall for it.
If you receive this email in your inbox, report it to your local police department and delete it.
