WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Andy Kim (D-3rd) announced that he will be holding a telephone town hall on Wednesday, June 23 at 5 p.m. to discuss current efforts to secure and expand voting rights across the country.

Joining Kim is Tiffany Muller, President and Executive Director of End Citizen United, and Anthony Gutierrez, Executive Director of Common Cause Texas. Muller and Gutierrez will provide background information on efforts to expand voting rights.

“Protecting the right to vote is fundamental to our democracy. When we weaken the right to vote, we weaken the fabric of our country,” Kim said. “I’ve heard a lot from our neighbors in New Jersey about this issue and wanted to bring together a conversation to help people understand why it’s important and how it impacts them. I want to thank Tiffany and Anthony for joining us and look forward to an engaging discussion on this critical topic.”

In connection with this town hall are the Congressional debates surrounding H.R. 1, the For the People Act of 2021, and H.R. 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019. If the bills are signed into law, they will strengthen voting rights by hindering voter suppression.

Burlington and Ocean County residents can sign up for the telephone town hall on Kim’s website: kim.house.gov/live.
