Businessman Joel Markel To Screen Film At Toms River Library

TOMS RIVERBusinessman and radio personality Joel Markel will present the film “Oro Macht Frei” at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 29 at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington Street.

Markel, who co-hosts the morning radio show “Preferred Company,” on WOBM 1160 AM, served as executive producer of “Oro Macht Frei.” The film explores the Roman Jewish experience during the Nazi occupation of Rome from September 1943 to June 1944.

“Oro Macht Frei” won the Best International Documentary award at the Garden State Film Festival in 2015.  Markel will be onsite for a question and answer session following the screening.
