BlueClaws Cap Season With Huge Crowd

LAKEWOOD – The BlueClaws closed out their 2019 home slate in style on Thursday night, drawing 10,754 to FirstEnergy Park to complete their 20th sellout crowd of the season and the second biggest crowd in franchise history.

The crowd of 10,754 marked the fifth time in 19 years and the first time since July 3, 2016 that the BlueClaws reached 10,000 fans.

“Our 20 sell-out crowds this season are seven more than last year and continues to show the wonderful support we’ve received from the community once again this summer,” said BlueClaws Team President Joe Ricciutti.

With 308,318 fans this year, the BlueClaws have drawn 7,711,681 fans in their 19 year history and are on track to break the 8-million fan mark during their 20th season at the Shore next year.

Earlier this week, the BlueClaws unveiled their 2020 schedule and made 2020 membership plans available.

“Fans have responded very well to our ‘Boardwalk Bundle’ plans that include not only tickets to the best games of the year, but also tickets to the Home Run Pavilion, plus a hot dog, soda and novelty ice cream at each game.”

In addition to the re-vamped ticket plans, this year the BlueClaws added fireworks to Thursday games during the summer months. This year, there were 26 fireworks nights including Thursdays through Saturdays in June, July and August. The team revamped their picnic areas with improved seating and food offerings, plus the enhanced membership plan offerings.
