JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST – The sounds of freedom will be booming, now through Jan. 14.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst issued a statement on its Facebook page, alerting residents in Burlington, Ocean and Monmouth counties of its mortar training on its ranges. The training started Jan. 9 and will run through Monday.
While the training will mostly focus on small arms firing, mortar training will also take place.
Officials reminded residents that cloud cover enables the booms to travel further and sound louder.
