OCEAN COUNTY – Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels has ordered retention for a man arrested as part of the county’s Operation Heading Back.

Rasheed Sanders, 37, of East Orange, was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with several drug-related offenses. He was additionally charged March 2 on two weapons charges. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office “presented critical details supporting OCPO’s position that Sanders be detained which ultimately led to Judge Daniels’ final ruling,” the office said.

A fugitive listed as part of the operation, Akera Lewis, 27, Newark, surrendered at her Jersey City attorney’s office March 12. She is charged with various drug possession and distribution offenses.

Operation Heading Back is a multi-agency effort to disrupt and dismantle drug production and distribution in Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Passaic, Union counties in New Jersey and the Bronx in New York. The efforts have led to 29 arrests and two fugitive warrants issued, as well as various seizures and shuttering of drug production facilities.
