NEW JERSEY – Popular arts and crafts chain AC Moore recently announced that it will be closing its remaining locations nationwide. But fear not, crafting enthusiasts, 40 locations will be swiftly taken up by Michael’s craft stores.

The company made the announcement on Monday, noting they plan to close the over 140 AC Moore stores in locations across the country.

“For over 30 years, our stores have been servicing the creative community with a vast selection of art and craft materials, with one common focus, the customer,” said AC Moore’s CEO Anthony Piperno in a statement. “Plans for closing specific A.C. Moore locations will be shared in the upcoming weeks on our website.”

AC Moore has stopped accepting online orders as of Monday, but says that orders placed prior to this date will still be shipped.

No dates have been set yet for the closing of AC Moore stores.

Ocean County has already seen the loss of at least one AC Moore in recent years. The Manahawkin AC Moore location announced its closing at the end of 2018 and has since been replaced by an Ashley HomeStore.
