2021 BlueClaws Coaching Staff Announced

  JERSEY SHORE – The BlueClaws have officially announced their 2021 coaching staff, with Chris Adamson becoming this year’s manager.

  Joining Adamson is hitting coach Rafael DeLima, pitching coach Matt Hockenberry, athletic trainer Andrew Dodgson and strength and conditioning coach Bruce Peditto.

  This is the first year the team will be playing as the High-A affiliate of the Phillies and their first year as the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

  32-year-old Adamson is from Australia and previously was the manager for the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League since 2017. He also was the assistant coach on the Australian national team while heading the performance department for Baseball South Australia. Adamson is the 14th manager in BlueClaws history.

  This will be Hockenberry’s second season with the BlueClaws. In 2018 he made his debut with the GCL Phillies West. Hockenberry was selected by the Phillies in the ninth round of the 2014 draft out of Temple University. He pitched for the BlueClaws in 2014 and 2015 and is the first former BlueClaws player to return as a BlueClaws coach.

  DeLima, has been a member of the Phillies Player Development Staff since 2000 and will be joining the BlueClaws for the first time.

  Dodgson spent his first two years in the organization as a trainer for the Gulf Coast Phillies West. He was set to join the BlueClaws in 2020. Peditto returns after serving as the BlueClaws strength and conditioning coach in 2019.

  Opening night for the BlueClaws is May 4 where they play against Hudson Valley (Yankees).
