Train vs. Police Car In Long Branch

  LONG BRANCH — A NJ Transit train collided with a police vehicle this morning in Long Branch, according to NJ Transit officials.

  The train struck the Long Branch police car as it was stopped on the tracks at the Brighton Avenue grade crossing.

  Although no injuries were reported, North Jersey Coast Line trains were delayed up to 30 minutes in both directions, according to NJ Transit. The train was traveling from Bay Head to Long Branch, scheduled to arrive at 10:49 a.m.

  The intersection at Brighton Avenue was cleared as of 12:40 p.m.
