Three Arrested In Neptune Township Shooting

FREEHOLD – Two men and a juvenile were arrested for attempted murder and other charges related to a Monday afternoon shooting in Neptune Township.

Corey Gibson, 30, of Tinton Falls, and Xavier Harbison, 18, of Neptune Township, were charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree attempted murder.

Gibson is also charged with first-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons.

Harbison was charged additionally with second degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

The 15-year-old male juvenile from Neptune City was charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a handgun, and hindering apprehension. He was lodged in the Middlesex Youth Detention Center in North Brunswick pending a family court hearing Friday.

Authorities received a 9-1-1 call Monday afternoon that shots were being fired on the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue in Neptune Township. An investigation by authorities revealed there was gunfire exchanged between Gibson, and Harbison and the juvenile.
