ASBURY PARK – Movie buffs and party-goers received a very special surprise visit from the Boss himself at the recent premiere of “Blinded by the Light,” a film inspired by Jersey Shore native Bruce Springsteen.

Springsteen attended the premiere of “Blinded by the Light” alongside his wife Patti Scialfa on Wednesday, August 7 at the Paramount Theater on the Asbury Park Boardwalk.

The appearance came as a surprise to many, even the star of the film Viveik Kalra.

While Springsteen did not accept any questions from the press, he did pose for a few shots alongside the cast and crew of the film.

“Blinded by the Light” is directed by Gurinder Chadha and based on the memoir “Greetings from Bury Park” by Sarfraz Manzoor. The film follows the story of a South Asian Muslim teenager growing up in England in the 1980s, and the ways in which Bruce Springsteen’s timeless music had a powerful effect on his life.
