Pedestrian Killed In Crash On Route 35

  SHREWSBURY – A pedestrian crossing Route 35 was struck and killed by a car, police said.

  Tamar Carseladze, 69, of Shrewsbury, was attempting to cross the road at around 6:15 p.m. on December 7. He was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly thereafter.

  The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was treated and released.

  A Honda Civic was the only vehicle involved. The driver was not issued any summonses. Carseladze was not crossing the highway in a crosswalk.

  The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Shrewsbury Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
