FREEHOLD – A Bloomfield man is facing 25 years after pleading guilty to charges of sexual assault and child porn in court recently, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Jaime Mauricio Leon, 34, pleaded guilty to charges of first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and third degree Possession of Child Pornography for incidents that occurred in Long Branch on June 15 and 16, 2017.

Leon is scheduled for sentencing on August 2, 2019.   An investigation began on June 16, 2017 when a citizen reported seeing through a window a man and woman committing sexual acts upon a minor who appeared to be asleep.

The investigation identified the man as Leon and discovered that the female suspect knew the child prior to the incident. Further evidence showed that Leon and the female suspect planned the attack on the child and both were in possession of child sexual abuse images.

On June 23, 2017, Leon was arrested at his job site in Fort Lee. The case against the female suspect remains pending.

The investigation was conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Long Branch Police Department.
