FREEHOLD – Authorities say an Eatontown man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at a Chase Bank in Bradley Beach that netted more than $10,000 in cash.
According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago and Bradley Beach Police Chief James Arnold, 30-year-old Demauriea A. Gray was charged with one count of first-degree robbery following the October 27 incident.
Police said officers responded to the bank on Main Street around 2:50 p.m. after receiving a report of a robbery. Investigators determined that a man entered the bank, handed a note to a teller demanding money, and fled with a large amount of cash.
A joint investigation by the Bradley Beach and Avon-by-the-Sea Police Departments, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau, and the FBI’s Red Bank Office led to Gray being identified and taken into custody shortly after the incident without incident.
Gray was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, where he remains held pending a court appearance. The case is being handled by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Caitlin J. Sidley.
Authorities said information about Gray’s attorney was not immediately available.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
