NEPTUNE – A Neptune man is accused of breaking into a local residence and stealing a women’s bathing suit and bra, police said.

Wayde Delhagen, 25, of the 600 block of Wayside Road, has been charged with residential burglary, criminal mischief, and theft.

According to police, Delhagen broke into a residence on the 700 block of Wayside Road at approximately 3:30 a.m. on June 15. During the break-in, two residents were asleep inside. When they heard the alarm system activate, signaling a break-in, they locked themselves inside their bedroom and called 911.

Police responded, locating Delhagen in the area in possession of women’s clothing. He was detained by police and the victim identified the clothing as hers.

Delhagen was arrested, charged and released.

An investigation discovered that Delhagen had previously engaged the victim through various social media sites and harassed her.

On June 19, he was also charged with stalking and cyberbullying, arrested, and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing.
