TINTON FALLS — A Monmouth County jury has convicted a Tinton Falls man on multiple drug charges following a weeklong trial, prosecutors announced Monday.
Timothy Bethea, 50, was found guilty of second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute more than one-half ounce, as well as third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to Raymond S. Santiago, the Monmouth County prosecutor.
The verdict was returned after testimony presented before Superior Court Judge Jason Rockwell. Jurors deliberated after hearing evidence tied to a narcotics investigation conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics and Criminal Enterprise Unit Gang Task Force.
Authorities said the investigation began in early 2023 and culminated on March 12, when detectives executed search warrants on Bethea and at his residence on Carol Court. Prosecutors said investigators recovered more than 60 grams of cocaine, including both powder and crack forms.
Bethea now faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years in New Jersey state prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, 2026.
The case was prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Emily Cartmell. Bethea was represented by defense attorney Michael Policastro of Milltown.
