Law Enforcement Officials Seek Help In 2022 Fatal Shooting Probe

FREEHOLD – Law enforcement officials are requesting information from anyone who may have witnessed a fatal shooting that took place in Asbury Park in late July 2022, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago stated Thursday.

Asbury Park Police Department responded to a report of gunfire on Thursday July 28, 2022, shortly before 7:30 p.m. originating from the area of the 1600 block of Sewall Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located 33-year-old Kyshon Washington-Walker of Shrewsbury who had sustained multiple gunshot injuries.

Washington-Walker was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department continue to investigate the shooting.
