MONMOUTH COUNTY – A man who went out in a fishing boat Saturday morning died when his vessel capsized into the Raritan Bay, according to authorities.
The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed the 21-foot open cabin boat was spotted by another boater shortly before 10 a.m. The eyewitness called for help and a rescue team pulled the unidentified man from the water and began performing CPR with no success.
The victim was pronounced dead by Monmouth County EMS.
At first, it was believed another person was also on the boat but a search by Coast Guard crews turned up nothing.
