LONG BRANCH – Firefighters from Monmouth Beach and surrounding communities were called out early January 26 to assist with a two-alarm house fire along Ocean Avenue.
According to fire officials, the Monmouth Beach Fire Company was dispatched for mutual aid at about 1:40 a.m. after the City of Long Branch Fire Department requested assistance. The incident began when a Long Branch police officer on routine patrol spotted heavy smoke in the area near the Breakwater Beach Club and alerted dispatch.
Fire crews arriving at the scene encountered significant fire conditions at a single-family residence. Additional departments responded both to the fireground and to cover stations as crews remained committed to the two-alarm blaze.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately released.
