FREEHOLD – Two cats were killed in Asbury Park, and law enforcement officials want answers.

A report came in that two young male cats were dead. Their remains, which showed signs of massive trauma, were found by authorities in a garbage can near the 1200 block of Grant Avenue in Asbury Park Feb. 18.

Authorities also believe this isn’t an isolated incident.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is asking the public for help identifying who may have done this. They are also asking if anyone knows who owned the cats, both year-old black-and-white males.
