LAKEHURST – Police said a woman was banging on windows with a large piece of wood. She was later charged with having drugs on her person and kicking a cop.

Carly S. Stevenson, 22, of Manchester was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law, Resisting Arrest with Physical Force, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Without a Prescription. Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.

Officers Robert Schroeck and Harold Hester responded to the area of Manapaqua Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. on May 29 on the report of Stevenson banging on windows with a large piece of wood.

When she was being detained, she struggled with the officers, they said. She began kicking, and Officer Schroeck suffered a minor injury, police said.

Police learned that she had wax folds of suspected heroin and multiple hypodermic syringes. She was also under the influence of Xanax without a prescription.
