Car Stop Leads To 200-Bag Heroin Bust

MANCHESTER – A motor vehicle stop on Route 37 in mid-April lead to the arrest of two Ocean County residents. Both were charged with multiple drug offenses.

The driver, Jahad Evans, 40, of Brick, was charged with conspiracy to possess heroin. He was first released on summons but later a complaint warrant was filed. He was arrested and taken to Ocean County Jail.

Amanda Robinson, 27, of Beachwood, a passenger, was charged with possession and possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of paraphernalia, and loitering to distribute CDS.

The vehicle was stopped April 18 near Colonial Drive by Manchester’s Narcotics Enforcement Team. A search uncovered drug paraphernalia. At police headquarters, 200 bags of heroin with a street value of $900 were found in Robinson’s possession.

Members of the Manchester Township Police K9 Unit assisted in the investigation.
