AS OF 1:40 p.m.
LAKEHURST – Borough police are responding to an overturned truck near the Express Inn which has shut down a section of Route 70 West and Cedar Street.
A spokesperson for the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred approximately 1:25 p.m. and that no other details were available at the current time.
The accident happened on Route 70 near the Lakehurst Circle where Jersey Shore Online has its offices. From the scene, several police, fire and EMS units responded and a garbage truck can be seen on its side.
According to Ocean County Scanner News, the driver of the truck was ejected through the windshield but police have not confirmed those reports.
