MANCHESTER – A months-long investigation led by the Manchester Township Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of a township man on a child exploitation charge, officials announced.
Authorities said investigators executed a forensic review of a tablet belonging to Christopher Hasse, 47, of Manchester Township, and discovered files identified as child sexual abuse material. Detectives charged Hasse with third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material and took him into custody at his home on December 4, 2025. He was later taken to the Ocean County Jail.
Police Chief Antonio Ellis praised the coordinated work of the department’s Patrol and Investigations bureaus, along with the Prosecutor’s Office’s High Tech Crimes Unit, noting their diligence in bringing the case forward.
Officials emphasized that the charge is an accusation and Hasse is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
