MANCHESTER – Police are investigating an incident where a Manchester woman drove her car into the front of a neighboring residence in the Cedar Glen West section of the township yesterday.

On July 9 at approximately 12:58 p.m., Manchester Police responded to a residence on Mallard Street for a report of a vehicle which had struck the front of a residence.

According to police, 81-year-old Maria Piwowarczyk of Manchester was attempting to pull into a shared driveway in her 2014 Toyota Corolla when she claims to have lost control of her vehicle. Piwowarczyk drove across the adjacent neighbor’s lawn and directly into the brick façade of the single family residence.

While Piwowarczyk stated that her brakes had failed, an inspection of the vehicle deemed that the brakes appeared to be in proper working condition.

No injuries have been reported. Piwowarczyk was evaluated at the scene but refused any additional medical treatment.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but police believe driver error to have a role in the accident.
