Body On Tracks Was Ocean County Man

  MANASQUAN – A 23-year-old man from Manchester was identified by NJ Transit officials. The body of Richard Caputo was discovered on train tracks near Manasquan Station Tuesday morning.

  The man’s body was found on the tracks around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning by a North Jersey Coast Line Train 3310 engineer.

  According to NJ Transit Spokesman Jim Smith, a motorcycle was also discovered near the area where Caputo’s body was found.

  Smith reported that the cause of death is still under investigation as of Thursday morning.

  Caputo’s obituary stated that he had died in a motorcycle accident in Manasquan” and that he had always enjoyed riding motorcycles with friends. He was a Point Pleasant Borough High School and Ocean County College graduate.

  The obituary also states that a memorial Mass has been scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Sept. 4 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church at 30 Schoolhouse Road in the Whiting section of Manchester Township.
