MANCHESTER – AristaCare at Manchester has begun administered the initial dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination to staff and residents via CVS Health.

“Our residents and staff were gleaming with excitement and relief for this momentous day. It was a great way to end a not-so-great year, and a beautiful way to start 2021.” said Sam Schwebel, Director of Client and Provider Relations.

By state regulations, healthcare workers and long-term care residents were in the first category to receive the treatment. The vaccine is in two doses, a few weeks apart.

As of print time, five of the seven AristaCare facilities have received their initial dose of the vaccination and are already scheduled for their second doses. The Pfizer vaccine requires two doses a few weeks apart.

The remaining two facilities are on the calendar for their initial doses in the coming week.

“Our residents and their families are eager to resume the days of regular visitations and activities. We are hopeful the vaccination will assist in doing that,” said Tyler Heath, Director of Business Development.
