Local Man Among 15 Charged In Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

TRENTON – Fifteen people, including a Howell man, were charged for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute significant quantities of heroin and cocaine in the Bayshore area of Monmouth and Middlesex counties, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said Wednesday.

Brian Hall, 47, of Howell, was among those defendants charged with conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, and another charge related to 500 grams or more of cocaine. The men allegedly engaged in the drug trafficking conspiracy from May 2017 to November 2018.

Fourteen of the defendants appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Tonianne J. Bongiovanni in Trenton in federal court.

One defendant, Shavar Williams, remains at large. Other defendants include: Guy Jackson, 46, Effort, Pa.; Gregory Gillens, 46, Hillsdale, N.J.; Lashawn Mealing, 47, Effort, Pa.; Richard Gethers, 43, Perth Amboy; Deberal Rogers, 46, Perth Amboy; Krystal Cordoba, 33, Elizabeth; Daniel Alfano, 44, Keansburg; Daniel McHugh, 48, Sayreville; Tyler Scarangello, 33, Belford; David Nagy, 41, Old Bridge; Christy Dube, 33, Clliffwood; George Holiday Sr., 47, Union Beach; and Daryl Jackson, 45, Old Bridge (charged only with conspiracy to distribute cocaine).

If convicted, Hall and the other defendants face a mandatory minimum five-year prison term, with a maximum of 40 years, and a maximum fine of $5 million.
