Trash Collector Pinned By Car In Two Vehicle Crash

POINT PLEASANT BOROUGH – A Lakewood man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 88, after being pinned between both vehicles, police said.

Point Pleasant Borough Police responded the area of 924 Route 88 in the early hours of Oct. 2 for a two-vehicle crash involving a garbage truck. Police discovered that the victim, a 27-year old Roselle waste management employee was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Route 88.

The victim suffered leg injuries when he was struck by the vehicle, driven by a 28-year old Point Pleasant man. The driver hit both the victim and the garbage truck, pinning the worker between his vehicle and the garbage truck.

The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in a MONOC helicopter. He is currently in stable condition, police reported. The driver suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

The Point Pleasant First Aid and Point Pleasant Fire Department also responded to the scene.
