Several Shore Area Residents Collared Up On Drug Charges

  BRICK – Township Police Detectives made several drug related arrests from criminal activity observed in the area of a Brick Boulevard convenience store.

  Members of the police department’s Street Crimes Unit made several arrests in the vicinity of a Wawa store at 116 Brick Boulevard. The first arrest was on January 15, when the SCU was conducting surveillance at that location. This led to a motor vehicle violation.

  Sgt. Paul Catalina and Duke, his K-9 partner, responded to the scene of the stop to aid SCU detectives which led to the discovery of quantities of controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia.

  The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested. They included the driver, Manchester resident Kyle Fisher, 30, who was charged with possession of heroin, hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia. He also received several motor vehicles summonses.

  Also charged was 28-year-old Jordan Scott of Barnegat. He received charges of possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin, hypodermic syringes, drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and throwing debris from a motor vehicle.

  William Barbato, 42, Howell, was charged with possession of heroin, hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia.

  Each of the men were processed and released on a summons.

  SCI detectives also observed a vehicle in the parking lot at the rear of the Wawa on January 26. The vehicle was occupied by Alba Lekaj, 23, of Beachwood. She was observed snorting a bag of what appeared to be a controlled dangerous substance.

  Further investigation at the scene revealed torn wax folds of heroin inside her vehicle. She was placed under arrest for possession of heroin and a hypodermic syringe. She was processed and released on a summons following being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, paraphernalia and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police.

  Lekaj was also found to be under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and also received several motor vehicle summonses.
