TOMS RIVER — A 25-year-old Hazlet Township man has admitted to a cocaine distribution offense tied to an investigation in Brick Township, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Brandon Torsiello pleaded guilty on October 6, 2025, in Superior Court before Judge Guy P. Ryan, presiding judge of the Criminal Division, to possessing between one-half ounce and less than five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute. Sentencing is scheduled for December 5, 2025, when prosecutors will seek a five-year New Jersey State Prison term, according to Billhimer.
Authorities said the case grew out of a probe by the Brick Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit. On December 5, 2024, officers observed conduct consistent with a drug deal and stopped Torsiello’s vehicle shortly after he left a parking lot.
An Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to narcotics, leading to Torsiello’s arrest and a search at police headquarters that turned up cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax and suboxone, investigators said. Detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant on his vehicle on December 7, 2024, and recovered additional cocaine and other controlled substances.
Torsiello has remained in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest in December 2024. Senior Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke is handling the case for the state. Billhimer credited the Brick Township Police Street Crimes Unit, the department’s Detective Bureau and the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit for their work on the investigation.
