BRICK – Police reported that there were no injuries as a result of a gas leak this morning.
The leak was behind LA Fitness in Brick Plaza, caused by a contractor hitting a gas meter.
New Jersey Natural Gas responded “quickly” and shut off the gas, police said. Police and EMTs responded along with fire personnel from Pioneer Hose, Breton Woods, Laurelton Fire Departments and the Fire Safety Bureau. Surrounding stores were temporarily evacuated while checked for gas, police said. LA Fitness remains the only store closed.
